Bell: 'The Art of Bookbinding', London, George Bell and Sons, 1880, 1st edition, xxiv,[2],187,[1]pp, 10 photo-lithograph plates depicting bindings in the possession of the author complete, finely bound in full red crushed morocco gilt by Zaehnsdorf, with a striking modernist design of 13 narrowing concentric rectangles ruled in gilt to front and rear covers, spine with raised bands gilt, gilt titled in two compartments, the remaining four compartments each with five modernist narrowing concentric rectangles ruled in gilt matching the cover design, gilt Zaehnsdorf 'exhibition' stamp on rear pastedown, gilt inner dentelles, marbled end papers, top edge gilt, armorial bookplate of Walter Sidney Scott (1900-1980) to front pastedown, sometime Vicar of Selborne, Hants and Frensham, Surrey, book collector and author.
