Jacques Blumenthal (1829-1908), German pianist and composer, settled in London, where he became the pianist to Queen Victoria, Autograph Letter Signed, [3]pp, on Queen's House, Cheyne Walk, Chelsea headed paper, 10 June 1907 "My dearest Pamela...I covet the great pleasure of fulfilling one of your .. wishes. I had the whole of Germany surveyed to find a copy of the completely extinct (out of print) Beethoveniana 2 volumes printed in 1872 & 1889. I am sorry it took such a long time, but at last I succeeded & here they are & you must allow me to lay them at your feet...Your devoted old friend Jacques Blumenthal', possibly to one Pamela Margaret Jekyll (1889-1943) of Chelsea, daughter of Dame Agnes Lowndes Jekyll (1861-1937) and Herbert Jekyll, niece of Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932), the notable horticulturist and garden designer.
