Content covering Cook's first voyage to the South Pacific Ocean aboard HMS Endeavour, from 1768 to 1771, and his second voyage from 1772 to 1775, commissioned by the British government with advice from the Royal Society and undertaken with the ships Resolution and Adventure, which proved the great Southern landmass Terra Australis to be a myth
