£1,800
A late Victorian Polyphon disc musical box, walnut and beech cabinet, originally purchased from Harrods of London. Complete with nineteen reproduction 19.5” discs, a coin in the slot mechanism (accepting old pennies) and keys for locking the pennies away. The discs were replaced, as the originals were rusty - resulting in rust blocking up the motor. This Swiss-made musical box itself is original and stands on a reproduction disc box. This instrument would have originally been screwed to the wall in a pub.
