Jean Cassou & Jacques Sabile: 'Le Pillage par les Allemands des Oeuvres d'Art et des Bibliothèques appartenant à des Juifs en France', Paris, Editions du Centre, 1947, 265,[3]pp, 19 full page b/w illustrations of 3rd Reich documents and artworks by Vermeer, Van Gogh, Pierre Bonnard etc. looted by Hermann Goering, original printed wraps. By some estimates, the Nazis stole 650,000 works of art from 1933 to 1945, many from Jewish families who were arrested and then killed in concentration camps during the Holocaust. Some of the stolen pieces were created by some of the world's most heralded artists, including van Gogh, Picasso and Chagall.
