A stunning rare Mid Century cocktail dress by Yaga - The Madison Avenue, New York Couturier. The top layer is made of very fine interwoven lace to form flowers in the overall design, the underlayer is of cream silk. The front of the dress has a delicate scalloped shape neckline and is supported by wide shoulder straps. The back of the dress has a zip back fastening. The interior of the dress displays an intricate form of hand stitching to the boned bodice and the skirt is supported by a petticoat which has a wide pleated hemline. the stiffened fabric gives the skirt a soft structured full shape and the silk skirt to the dress has a hand stitched puffball shape effect to give an overall dramatic shape to the dress, the underskirt is also weighted, with the dress is an ivory silk evening coat.
