A near finished 3" scale coal-fired model of a Burrell traction engine built to the Plastow design by a retired mechanical engineer. Copper boiler, the footplate fittings include, pressure gauge, regulator and steam feeds, water sight glass and lubrication points. Single cylinder engine with slide valve actuated by Stephensons valve gear, reverser lever on footplate. Mechanical lubricator, drain cocks, rod actuated from footplate. Two speed road gears, with winch drum and differential mounted on the nearside rear wheel. Safety valves, whistle and speed governor fitted to the cylinder block, two clack valves fitted to the side of the boiler, L/H one piped to the mechanical water pump
Handbrake handle fitted but not acting on the driving wheel. Water tank fitted under footplate with coal storage to the rear. Chain driven steering to the front wheels. Smokebox retaining bar and door fitted with Burrell name.
Comes with a injector fitting, water valve fitting, cylinder makers plate and nameplate "Bill". A collection of blueprint drawings, and books relating to H.R Plastow, Model Engineers "Examination and Testing of Miniature Steam Boilers" and "How to get the best from your Model Traction Engine". and Manufacturers Boiler Certificate S/N 3358330 dated 29/11/1983. Will need both an updated Hydraulic Test and Steam Test
