Verso of title page states that the first edition, first print run was 100,000 copies in February 1927, followed by three print runs of 50,000 copies each in March, May and September 1927 respectively, this being a September 1927 4th printing copy. Landmark Science-Fiction and Fantasy story set in 2026 in a technologically advanced city, sustained by the existence of an underground society of labourers.
