JOHN FLADGATE OF LONDON (act. 1743-1781): An 18th Century ebonised mahogany bracket clock, the silvered dial with Roman numerated chapter ring, Arabic five minute markers, gilt corner spandrels, date aperture, strike/silent and regulation dials. The case with carry handle on a bell top, pine cone finials, carved blind fret corners, raised on stepped base to gilt brass ogee bracket feet. Case has a few splits and wear but appears original. Some steel components have signs of surface rusting. After a few turns of power on time fusee, gear train is functioning to the escapement. Issue with strike train even when wound.
