A large folio C19th album, gilt title to front cover "Sketches by C.H.B.", containing a good quantity of watercolours, pencil drawings, and photographs, UK and continental topographical and architectural views, sketches mainly c.1860's/70's, photographs similar period and later (upto early 1900's), comprising approx. 26 pencil drawings including Southport, Lydiate Abbey, Snowdon, Lake District, Cheshunt, Dolwyddelan, Conwy Bay, Eastham on the Mersey, Betws-y-Coed, etc., many signed in initials C.H.B., approx. 24 watercolour sketches including "Cuckoopint Ambleside Aug. 16 1867", Blowick Lake District, Little Broughton, Cumbria, Southport at low tide, Langdale Pikes, Halsall Rectory, Windermere, Dolwyddelan, Charter House Church London, others mountain and lakeland scenes etc., all sketches various sizes approx 7 x 9cm to 26 x 18cm, 120+ mounted photographs, including Chamonix, Gawsworth Rectory, Tintern Abbey, Wye river, Stokesay Castle, Dunham Park, Settle, Ribble river at Mytton, Gower peninsula incl. Nicholaston beach, Hoghton Tower, interior of a house named "Ivanhoe", etc, plus continental photographs, good quantity of both Bordighera, Italy (with captions relating to British expats) and Heidelberg, Germany, several photographs signed in initials "C.H.B" in the negative, all photographs and sketches captioned in pencil beneath, photos mainly approx 10 x 13cm, contemporary full decorative calf gilt (rubbed), all edges gilt (42 x 33cm)
