I GOBELS OF AMSTERDAM: An 18th Century Dutch silver pair cased pocket watch thought to be by Jan Gobels. The plain outer case, silvered Roman sun and moon dial with single hand, signed I. Gobels, Amsterdam, verge escapement and chain fusee drive, backplate appears to be signed I J Gobels, Amsterdam (the J may be hidden by a fastening), ornate finely engraved figural pillars, 6cm diameter. Jan Gobels was active in the 18th Century but little information exists.

After winding a few times on fusee power is reaching escapement. Appears to have not been serviced for a long time. No obvious repairs / replacements but not ruled out. Chain fusee mechanism appears to be complete and functional. No hallmarks present.
