[Ambrose Wretts.] A large manuscript account book, compiled 1772-1780 in the Wortham area of Suffolk, recording sale of all manner of grocery & general goods including tobacco, cloth, nails, lump sugar, green tea etc., entries mainly Wortham but also Burgate, Palgrave, Mellis, Rickinghall, Botesdale, Banham etc, contemporary m/s inscription to inside front cover "Ambrose Wretts Bought this Book Augt. 12th 1772" c.600pp of manuscript entries, some ff. at beginning and end loose, ledger folio (42 x 17cm), original vellum (very worn)
