CONYERS DUNLOP OF LONDON (1725-1779): An 18th Century fruitwood striking and repeating bracket clock by Conyers Dunlop, eight day twin fusee movement, with verge escapement, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, Arabic five minute markers, verge false pendulum bob and date aperture, pierced metal hands, gilt metal spandrels, strike/silent and subsidiary seconds. The movement with four turned pillars, striking the hours on a bell, the backplate finely engraved with foliate scrolls. The case with carry handle upon the bell top, the front and rear with mirrored panels, stepped base. For restoration but main pieces appear to be present. 45cm high, 27cm wide, 17cm deep. Conyers Dunlop is a noted London clockmaker who was apprenticed in 1725 and became a member of The Clockmakers Company in 1733. He later was Master of The Clockmakers Company in 1758.

One bell strikes the hours. Conversion to pendulum crutch. Going train - physically moving pendant from side to side, can see that power is getting through to escapement. Poor condition to movement. Rusty steel components and dry oils. No carillon. Doesn't sit flat. Case is a restoration project.
