Four early 20th Century manuscript ledgers with manuscript entries relating to building repairs carried out, vast majority of which in Suffolk and for various pubs and breweries, presumably for an Ipswich firm, three volumes being m/s Summary of Accounts, first volume with approx. 350/400 pages of m/s entries covering the period 1909-1914, these on numbered pages 403-793, entries include "Felixstowe "Ferry". G.F. Frick[?]. Taking out old range & bricking up chimney & fixing new range. Taking off old & fixing new cowl. Oct. [1909]. 3.10.4", hundreds of other similar entries for pubs and breweries in Suffolk and environs including many for pubs in Ipswich, Needham Rampant Horse, Manningtree Station Hotel, Brantham Bull, Halesworth Station Hotel, Waldringfield Maybush, Walton Angel, Walton Feathers, others Mendlesham, Stowmarket, Mellis, Claydon, Beccles, Framlingham, Leiston, Harwich, Ufford, Stonham, Debenham, Dedham, Wivenhoe, Bergholt etc etc, with entreis listing pub/brewery, proprietor, works carried out, date, cost, second volume 350/400 pages of m/s entries covering period 1925-1930, on pages numbered 1-392, entries include "rebuilding part bar chimney stack...", "Repairing bottle cases...", "Repair old, make & brand one new alestool", "Sproughton King's Head...Taking particulars, supply & fit 3 1/2" pump, conect up pipes pump make good brickwork (Mr Hooper's instructions)...", third volume 350/400 pages of m/s entries covering period 1931-1937, on pages numbered 1-402, entries include, similar entries, a few pages of m/s "Index to Summary of Accounts" loosely inserted in first volume, fourth volume approx. 400 pages manuscript entries bills covering period 1915-1936, all folio (32.5 x 20.5cm), old quarter calf worn, all with contemporary printed labels to front pastedowns of J.W.
