Eight thick folio clothbound scrap albums and a ring bound folder compiled by, and containing large volume of mounted articles by the sporting and countryside author John Humphreys (1939-2012), predominantly for Shooting Times, for whom he wrote for over 40 years, as well as for for Sporting Gun and Countryside Monthly magazines, spanning the period from March 1971-2012, probably being all articles he ever wrote for the publications, each album with some manuscript notes, dates of articles by him to leaves of album etc., a number of Autograph Letters Signed and Typed Letters Signed from fellow countryside authors and countrymen, magazine editors, publishers etc, Typed Letter Signed from Francis Pym MP (1922-2008), dated 18 July 1978, plus another Typed Letter from his office, both on Parliament headed paper, plus some other relevant material loosely inserted (9).

From the estate of John Humphreys (1939-2012), distinguished sporting and countryside author who wrote for Shooting Times for more than 40 years – for much of that time contributing the weekly ‘Country Gun’ column. He was a much loved character of the shooting community who dedicated his life to the promotion of shooting, fishing and the countryside.
