With wood engravings by Eric Ravilious.’, London, The Nonesuch Press, 1938, limited edition, number 27 of 850 numbered sets, 2 volumes, this set formerly the copy of Enid Marx RDI (1902-1998), loosely inserted Typed Letter Signed to her from the bookseller Raymond Kilgarriff (1928 – 2025), of Howes Bookshop, Hastings, on headed paper, July 1981, and with further Autograph Note Signed by Kilgarriff to Enid Marx on Howes Bookshop headed paper, wood engravings by Eric Ravilious, including full page pictorial titles, folding line map of Selborne in 1842, royal 8vo, original full buckram gilt, gilt devices by Ravilious on the front covers and in panels on the spine, top edges gilt, also with the very scarce 8pp prospectus loosely inserted. An excellent copy of the best 20th century edition of Gilbert White's Natural History, beautifully illustrated by Eric Ravilious. Formerly the copy of Enid Marx RDI (1902-1998), fellow Royal College of Art graduate and contemporary of Eric Ravilious (2)
