PAIROJ KARNDEE Thai Contemporary Artist: Portrait titled "Blue Apsara" in purples and blues of naked female, acrylic on canvas, slight area of damage to neck. The artist has been influenced by the mysterious Apsaras - the celestial maidens of ancient Asian culture depicted in the galleries of Cambodia's Angkor Wat. His techniques painstakingly recreate the stone textures of those images with a time-consuming rendering of acrylic on linen canvas. His figures show a notable range of emotions. Signed and dated, 2011, 130.5cm x 130.5cm
