£280
A Mid 19th Century French brass cased mantel clock with hand painted porcelain front panel depicting boy and girl with flute in a cornfield, striking on a bell, with pendulum and key
28.5cm tall, 17.5cm wide, 13cm deep.
Case is shiny, clean and sound.
Face has two dirty vertical cracks in the porcelain painted as sky – one to the left of II, one to the right of I.
Painting is in good order, as are numerals, hands and winding holes.
Movement: strike winds and strikes the hour. The dock will not tick when wound, so does not run to keep time (it may not be happy on our table, but something is not running well).
